Delays expected to Raigmore Active Travel Link

It was confirmed this week at a Raigmore Community Council meeting that the construction of the Raigmore Active Travel Link, which was estimated to be completed 16th September, could face delays due to supply issues.
Contractor Pat Munro has been faced with delays with the supply and delivery of the street furniture items which include benches, bollards, and directional signage. There has also been a supply issue with the Ekki Hardwood cladding but it is hoped this can be resolved in the coming weeks.
The team is now awaiting updates from the suppliers on when the materials will be delivered to site. Once this is confirmed, an update will be provided on the revised completion date.
It was also confirmed at the meeting that a number of trees surrounding the construction site are dead and diseased, and therefore are required to be felled.
A total of 10 trees, including Elm and Ash trees, are diseased and will be felled upon completion of a bat survey. If left, these trees pose a risk to those using nearby footpaths. A number of new trees are being planted as part of the construction of the Raigmore Active Travel Link.
