Founded in 1945, Pat Munro is one of the largest privately owned infrastructure company's in the North of Scotland. We are a leading provider of civil engineering, utilities (WIRS accredited) and construction solutions and we also operate our own quarries across the region, manufacturing concrete and roadstone. Other areas of expertise include road surfacing and waste & recycling services.
We work with a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sector and are recognised for our high quality of service, innovative approach and diversity of service offering.
Our homes division has been an NHBC registered housebuilder since the late nineteen sixties and is an active member of Homes for Scotland. We have developments across the Highlands of Scotland including Alness, Dornoch, Munlochy and Rosemarkie. On each development we cater for all types of purchasers from first time buyers and first time families, to growing families, retirees and downsizers.

We firmly believe that it’s our people who make our business successful and we have a talented and well-trained workforce over 200 strong, all of whom play an instrumental part in our growth. Our Customers
We have a reputation for putting our customers at the heart of everything we do and as such we have a loyal and long-standing customer base. Financially secure and agile we are also able to take advantage of new opportunities for growth and in recent years we have expanded our service offering to include a Major Projects division and added a modular offsite manufacturing division to our business through the acquisition of Carbon Dynamic in 2018.
Our Credentials
Health, safety and the environment are a top priority, and all departments are managed under an integrated management system, externally accredited to ISO 9001:2015 by BSi. Additionally, all Construction activity and Waste is accredited to ISO 14001:2015 by BSi. We are members of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, CECA, and hold accreditations with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, CHAS and Constructionline.
Our Community
We care about the communities we work in and have a long track record of support for community initiatives, groups, social enterprises, and local charities. Through the Pat Munro Foundation our team organise and take part in a number of events throughout the year to raise funds to facilitate such support with match funding provided by the company.
Our Offices
We have offices across the Highland region at Caplich Quarry and Averon House in Alness and Elm House in Inverness. We also have Quarries in Dornoch, Strathrory and Tomatin, Concrete Plants in Inverness and Elgin and a Waste Transfer Station in Inverness.
