Pat Munro Major Projects goes from strength to strength

In 2019, Pat Munro opened its Major Projects department based at Elm House in Inverness increasing the company’s service offering and civil engineering capabilities.
The decision was made following an announcement by Morrison Infrastructure that it was to close after their parent company Galliford Try withdrew Morrison Infrastructure from Scotland. The majority of the experienced management team from Morrison Infrastructure moved over to Pat Munro Major Projects, bringing with them more than 200 collective years’ experience, gained on a broad range of contracts and since then workload has steadily grown within the department.
Most recently, Major Projects have been successful in winning placement on both the Moray Council Small Works Framework and the SSE Small Works Framework, extending the reach of Pat Munro’s traditional geographical work area into Moray, as well as creating opportunities for inter-department trading, particularly within Pat Munro’s Surfacing and Quarry divisions.
Since start-up the team at Major Projects has worked with several key clients including Highland Council, ESD, Morrison Building Highland, SEPA, Vector Quatro and Exolum. It’s also being invited to price large scale projects including Windfarms, Distillery Warehouses, Waste Facilities, Bridges, Roadworks and Water Treatment Plants. Having only been in place for a short time this demonstrates the increased visibility of the Major Projects team in the market and the confidence in its capabilities.
Looking to the future and with the lease on Pat Munro Major Projects Inverness office now being extended, the department is set to consolidate its position in the sectors it is currently working in, as well as develop its Frameworks relationships to ensure long term workload.
Mark Bramley, Managing Director of Construction & Homes at Pat Munro said:
We are delighted with the way in which our Major Projects department has steadily grown over the last two years and seamlessly integrated into our overall Construction service offering. Since its inception we have seen an increase in tender opportunities across the Highland region and having the added capabilities of our Major Projects department has allowed us to take full advantage of these.
