Pat Munro Civil Engineering takes Raigmore Active Travel Link construction into next phase

Work to establish an active travel link in the Raigmore area of Inverness is now well underway, with the next phase of construction, sheet piling, set to begin on 7th June.
As part of the Inverness City Active Travel Network (ICATN), the Raigmore Active Travel Link will consist of a link to encourage walking, wheeling and cycling from the existing Golden Bridge to the Raigmore Interchange.
During the sheet pile work, expected to take around two weeks, nearby residents at Raigmore Estate may experience an increase in noise and vibrations. As during all stages of work, we will be monitoring noise and vibration levels to ensure they are within legal limits.
Sheet piles are sections of sheet materials with interlocking edges that are driven into the ground to provide earth retention and excavation support. In this instance the sheet piles will be clad in Ekki hardwood, like that used at the adjacent Inverness Campus.
During this next phase of work some lane closures will be necessary, specifically:
- A one-day single lane closure on Monday 7th June on the Raigmore Interchange slip road from the A9 northbound
- A weeklong single lane closure from Monday 14th June on the Raigmore Interchange slip road from the A9 northbound
