Posted on
We are delighted to announce that Lewis Meeks, our Junior Site Engineer, has won the award for “Most Promising Technician 2018” at the CECA Scotland Awards Dinner.
CECA Scotland (Civil Engineering Contractors Association) is the representative body for companies who work day-to-day to deliver, upgrade, and maintain Scotland’s infrastructure.
After being nominated and then selected as winner from an extensive pool of candidates across all of CECA Scotland’s member organisations, Lewis attended the awards ceremony in the Grand Ballroom of The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Glasgow Central on Thursday 28th March, hosted by Mr Des Clarke.
Being selected by the judging panel as the Most Promising Technician is testament to the hard work and effort that Lewis has put into both his Modern Apprenticeship & Graduate Level Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering, and also the application of this knowledge into developing his abilities within the workplace.
Speaking about the awards, Lewis said:
When I found out I won the award I was absolutely delighted. The CECA Scotland Annual Dinner was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed talking to, and learning from, all the experienced people in the room. It was a brilliant reward for my hard work over the past 4 years, and I give a massive thanks to Pat Munro for their support.
Pat Munro have given me all the support and help I’ve needed to develop through my career thus far and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me achieve this award. I would also like to give special thanks to Lynne Reid, my Apprenticeship Officer from CITB, for nominating me for this award and for the support she has given me throughout my apprenticeship.
I look forward to continuing my professional development in the Construction industry.
