A890 Strathcarron Road Improvements 

The project involved upgrading the existing road from Single Track to Single Carriageway over a 2.5km section.  The finished carriageway would generally become 6m wide with 0.5m hard strips either side.In February 2014, Pat Munro were awarded the sub-contract package to Supply, Haul and Lay Road Surfacing on the A890 Strathcarron Road Improvement project by Wills Bros who were main contractor for The Highland Council.In February 2014, Pat Munro were awarded the sub-contract package to Supply, Haul and Lay Road Surfacing on the A890 Strathcarron Road Improvement project by Wills Bros who were main contractor for The Highland Council.

Due to the projects remote location Pat Munro had several factors to consider each day whilst onsite including logistics and length of time from the Asphalt Batching Plant, Weather and Traffic Management including maintaining flow at all times.

All works carried out was in accordance with our National Highways Sector Scheme 14 & 16 whereby materials were tested daily at Production and Laying locations.
