Position
This is a Permanent, full-time position working within our Waste Services Department. The position is based at our office at Inverness Waste Transfer Station and will report to the Waste Manager. Our Waste Services, are committed to providing the best, local, recycling-led waste management solutions for businesses and domestic customers across the Highlands and Moray. Using state of the art technology and with a large and modern fleet, we deliver a customer-focused service, putting quality, efficiency and compliance at the forefront of all we do.
Principal Job Responsibilities
Principal roles and responsibilities will include:-
- Operating the Inverness Weighbridge ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant weighbridge operation
- Dealing with client enquiries efficiently, raising issues as and when required
- Ensuring all Waste Dept drivers are aware of their scope of works and have the correct paperwork in place including SEPA notes and any permit requirements
- Tracking movements of Waste Dept drivers with particular emphasis upon drivers working from Inverness ensuring that work is on schedule and highlighting any issues to the Waste Services Manager
- Provide administrative support for the bin service by the way of daily sign off’s and reporting
- Ensuring client requests for SEPA Notes are undertaken and SEPA Notes submitted to SEPA where required
- Advising Waste Services Manager of any issues or challenges with incoming waste
- Receiving and recording payments
- Dealing with telephone and email enquiries/quotations/bookings for all waste services
- Supporting the wider Waste Dept members
- Daily contact with Site Operative ensuring outgoing loads are efficiently managed
- Maintain sufficient office and site suppliers e.g. stationery, chemicals, PPE etc
- Carry out daily site inspection checks and skip stock take advising the Operations Manager of any issues

- Good communication skills with both clients and other company personnel.
- Good IT skills in packages including Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
- Enthusiastic, confident and trustworthy nature
- Have an aptitude for multi-tasking and efficiently structure daily tasks
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake tasks out with the key job responsibilities
- The ability to promote a good image of self and the company.
